Kia Ora bloggers,
In maths this week, we have been learning about Cartesian Planes and the transformations that you can do on them. Today we had to translate and reflect 3 different objects on a Cartesian plane. I chose a square, a triangle, and an object that looks kind of like a crown. Here is my slide with the pictures:
For me the square was the easiest, then the triangle, then the crown. It took me quite a while because I couldn't figure out how to use the website, but I eventually figured it out. Tomorrow we have to do part 2 of this and learn how to enlarge and rotate.
See you next time:)
I was a pupil at Marshland School and this blog is where I shared my learning. This blog has been archived, no further content will be uploaded or added. You are welcome to continue viewing posts, however commenting has been disabled.

Maths android
Kia ora bloggers,
In maths today, we had to make a math android on tinkercad. It took me about 1 hour and a half to complete it. I made mine have a hole in the middle so that it's like a box. I made my design pretty simple I used cubes for the arms, legs, torso, and head. I used cylinders for the eyes and the blue and pink button. I used a cone for the hat.

After we made it, we had to put a picture on a slide and then write the steps of how me made it.

The pyramid of Giza
Kia ora bloggers,
In math, we had to make a scale model of a famous landmark. I chose Khufus Pyramid from the Pyramids of Giza. I chose it because it was the first famous landmark that came to my head. I was thinking about doing the Eiffel Tower but saw that that was already quite popular.
The original dimensions were:
Height:147000mm
Length:230000mm
Width:230000mm
After I scaled it down:
Height:73.5mm
Length:115mm
Width:115mm

What does it mean to have heart?
Kia Ora bloggers,
In Literacy, we have been reading the Wizard of Oz. We are learning about the tinman at the moment so we had to write a paragraph on the difference of having heart and having a heart. We had to do this because the tinman wants a heart.
This is what I think it means to have heart and to have a heart.

My amazing house
Kia ora bloggers,
In maths, we have been learning about area and volume. As one of our tasks, we had to make a house on tinkercad. It could only have a total area of 8000mm squared. At my first attempt, I accidentally made it way too big. I then made a smaller version that became my final product. Here is a picture of it:
The family we had to make a house for had 2 parents and 2 kids so we had to make at least 2 bedrooms. We also had to include a toilet, a living room, and a kitchen.
Have you ever used tinkercad before?

Day 3 of online school
Kia ora bloggers,
Today we had a fun Fri-yay task instead of the usual literacy task. We had to create an artwork inspired by the wizard of oz. It had to be inspired by the wizard of oz because that is the book we are studying this term. I printed out a picture of Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Lion, and the Scarecrow walking and cut them out. I then used the paper that I cut them out of as a template. I put it on a new piece of paper then sponged on watercolour paint. Here is the finished product!
I tried to make the colours match the person.

Online School day 2
Kia Ora bloggers,
Today for our maths, we had to do a scavenger hunt. We had to find things around that house that we would use different units of measurement to measure. Then we had to convert that into the different types of measurement.
Here are my slides.

Online Learning - Day 1
Kia Ora Bloggers,
Today was our first day of online school for Term 2. We start with a 30-minute video call from 9:00am. During that call, we are assigned work to do. Today we had to read chapters 1-4 of The Wizard of Oz. I have only read a little bit but I'm interested to see what happens next. After that, I did my math work. We are learning about the properties of shapes. We had to pick some objects from our house, take a picture, then label the vertices, faces, and edges. Here is my slide:
I chose a book, hand sanitiser, a remote, and a Rubiks cube as my objects.
